Why do people get anorexia?
Why can't they just eat more?
How can I help someone I know with anorexia?
This website’s goal is to educate people who know someone who is currently struggling, or has struggled with, anorexia nervosa. While it is very hard to understand the thought processes and behaviors of a mental illness if you have not experienced it, I hope that my experience and the information on this site will teach you about how anorexia develops and why recovery is so hard.
My name is Ali Romero, and for my senior capstone project for Stanford University, I wanted to create a website full of information on my personal experience recovering from anorexia. This website is not intended to depict all experiences with anorexia, as experiences can vary tremendously. This website is also not intended to be a comprehensive manual on how to treat someone with anorexia, but I hope that sharing my story will help you support someone you know with anorexia.
CONTENT WARNING:
