Inside My Mind: Anorexia Recovery

Additional Resources

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) has created a lengthy informational toolkit for parents if their child has an eating disorder.

HelpGuide.org also created a guide for parents, family members, and friends. It includes information on different types of treatments, how to talk to someone who has an eating disorder, and how to support someone in recovery, especially if they are your child.

Youth United for Responsible Media Representation is an organization created to encourage accurate and responsible depictions of mental illnesses and suicide in television and movies. Their team asked me to write a review of the Netflix movie To the Bone, which portrayed a teenage girl dealing with recovery from anorexia. Click the link below to read about which parts of the film I thought were accurate and which parts I thought were harmful to the public’s understanding of anorexia.
